This week has been a little bit crazy. It felt like the old days. John and I have been working opposite shifts for the last 4 days. The day prior to that, he worked a double and got only 3 hours sleep. We have seen each other only to exchange the kids. Today is finally his day off. Phew. I still go in to work tonight, but at least we have the day together. Last night he said that he was ready for this day off but that this little scenario we've been playing out happened every day of every week for most of the time we were in Pgh. Its true. We were working 6am until at least 6pm every week night. He would go to the gym from 8-10pm and work at least 1/2 days on Saturdays. Church on Sunday was really our only time to see one another. Although I am working part-time now, we still see each other and the kids so much more now that I'm home. We are soooo grateful.
As a side note on gratefulness, I see sooo many fragmented families (single moms/non-married parents/open marriages) where I work. It makes me realize just how different and blessed we are....and lets give credit where credit is due.... Thank you God. Hopefully I can be some kind of blessing to these new people in my world.
